Community Commitment at R.J. Grondin & Sons

Community involvement is a longstanding tradition at R.J. Grondin & Sons. Throughout the past five decades, the company and its team have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to scores of worthwhile causes and benefits including major contributions to the Boy Scouts' Camp Hinds facilities and to the newly renovated Baxter Memorial Library in Gorham. In response to the recent Katrina hurricane disaster, our employees voluntarily contributed over $7,000 and with the company match we sent nearly $15,000 to the American Red Cross.

Besides direct financial support of the many local community schools, organizations and charitable causes, Grondin believes in helping with in-kind services for special projects such as the construction of a new ball field at McCauley High School in Portland, and athletic field improvements at the University of Southern Maine.

The spirit of giving quietly extends throughout the company as individuals from all levels support their local communities by unselfishly volunteering as coaches or youth program leaders, or by serving on the boards at the local Rotary Club, the Gorham Economic Developement Group, SMCC (Southern Maine Community College) and the ITN (Independent Transportation Network).
