Heavy highway construction services in Southern Maine

R.J. Grondin & Sons has successfully completed thousands of projects for the Maine Department of Transportation, the Maine Turnpike Authority, and municipalities throughout southern and central Maine. We have worked on projects ranging is size from widening the Maine Turnpike for 13 miles to replacing culverts for a local municipality. We have the local aggregate sources, machinery, people power and expertise to tackle any road project. R.J. Grondin & Sons can perform the work either as a General Contractor and handle all aspects of the job or as a sub-contractor for projects such as new bridge construction. A typical scope of work for these projects includes clearing trees, stripping topsoil, erosion control measures, traffic control, cuts & fills with existing on-site materials; drilling & blasting of ledge; importing materials such as sand, gravel & crushed stone; installation of sewer mains, water mains, natural gas services, drainage structures & pipes; stormwater ponds; excavation & backfill for bridge abutments; paving and curb installation; building sidewalks; pavement markings; loam, seed & mulch and landscaping. See our projects page to see some recent projects that we’ve worked on.

You name it, we work on it!
